Florina resort
welcome to florina resort
Florina Resort is conceived not just as a hospitality destination but as a living demonstration of CurHydro’s commitment to green sustainability. Nestled on Curaçao’s sun-drenched coast, Florina integrates cutting‑edge renewable energy systems, regenerative agricultural practices, and health‑focused programming within a framework of environmental stewardship. This chapter outlines the resort’s master plan—emphasizing solar power, greenhouse agriculture, energy‑saving technologies, health and wellness amenities, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement—culminating in a luxurious yet ecologically responsible getaway that aligns with CurHydro’s broader mission.
Project: Current Pilot Greenhouse
CurHydro’s current pilot greenhouse is the foundation of the company’s growth story. Located in Curaçao, this 300 m² solar-powered hydroponic facility serves as the proof of concept for a larger vision: a new generation of high-efficiency, climate-smart agriculture designed specifically for island conditions. The pilot demonstrates that local food production can be cleaner, more resilient, and more resource-efficient while reducing dependence on imported produce.
More than a demonstration site, the pilot greenhouse has been a strategic platform for validation and readiness. It has helped CurHydro refine operations, confirm the viability of its hydroponic production model, and prepare for commercial expansion through technical planning, procurement, workforce preparation, and stakeholder engagement. Its success directly underpins the company’s next phase: expansion to a 1.5-hectare greenhouse facility with significantly greater production capacity and long-term impact for Curaçao’s food system.
The pilot greenhouse also represents CurHydro’s wider ambition: to show that sustainable agriculture in the Caribbean can be bankable, scalable, and internationally relevant. As the first step in a broader growth trajectory supported by InvestEU Green Assist, the pilot stands as both an operational achievement and a launchpad for CurHydro’s future as a regional leader in climate-smart agriculture.
